What goes into the price of a website

Why two “similar” websites can cost very different amounts, and what the client is actually paying for.

“How much does a website cost?” is the question we hear most. The honest answer: it depends on what the site has to do. Here is what makes up the price.

Design

A ready-made template is cheaper, but your site will look like hundreds of others. Custom design takes your brand, your audience and the paths that lead to an enquiry into account.

Number of pages and content types

Ten identical service pages are one template. A catalogue, a blog, a client account and specialist pages are different templates, and each has to be designed and built.

Functionality

A contact form, online payments, appointment booking, multiple languages, CRM integration. Every feature adds development and testing work.

Admin panel

If you want to change texts, prices and photos yourself, you need a convenient admin. It is a separate piece of work, but it pays off when you no longer have to email a developer every time.

Support after launch

Hosting, updates, backups and monitoring. A site without support slowly ages and becomes vulnerable.

Before comparing prices, compare what each offer actually includes. A cheap website that brings no enquiries ends up being the most expensive one.
